The history of Central Vacuum Systems at Steinemann AG
From 1965
The Sulzer firm offers the first vacuum systems for manual cleaning.
From 1981
Steinemann AG produces vacuum pumps, filters and other components on behalf of Sulzer.
1983
The vacuum pump and filter are reengineered and combined into a single unit.
1986
AS (Automatic Stop) control system for vacuum units is introduced on the market. Switches off automatically if not used.
1987
ESS (Energy Saving System) control system for vacuum units is introduced on the market. The control adapts the motor/speed to the specific needs.
1989
Steinemann AG purchases the product and all marketing rights. The planning department then moves to Flawil.
1991
The components for automatic waste disposal in production machinery are developed. The same year sees the first system go into operation. New applications have been constantly added ever since.
1998
Automatic disposal systems for the catering industry are developed. In following years systems of different sizes are installed at various locations for Gate Gourmet.
2000
The vacuum unit is reengineered.
2002
The ESS control system is reengineered and frequency controllers are introduced. A new filter system is introduced.
2008
Administration and production move to the affiliated company, Calorifer AG.
2016
A new firm, ConVacc AG, is established for the CVS. The “Steinemann Central Vacuum Systems” brand name is retained.

2021
As a member of the Steinemanngroup, Steinemann Central Vacuum Systems has implemented the new company logo design.
